Books will start reaching schools by the end of January from the next academic session.Tender has been done for free textbooks from class 4 to 8.Books are to be given to 1.91 crore children in the next session.This time the officials got the order issued in November itself to deliver the books on time and after that completed the tender process.
Every year, by the time the order is issued, it becomes March-April and the books do not reach the children on time.Books of this academic session were also distributed till October-November.Now the government is asking for the report of 100 percent textbook distribution.At the same time, the books of class one to three have not yet been printed because NCERT books are to be implemented in the state this year.
According to the new National Education Policy, the National Council of Educational Research and Training has made changes in the books from class one to three.Only after this the books will go to print.In the second phase, from class four to class five in the year 2024-25 and then in the third phase from the year 2025-26, students of class six to class eight will be taught NCERT books.
